Gollum has bitten off Frodo’s finger and has fallen into the Crack of Doom with the Ring. Everything is as per book canon up until that moment but from then on events take a decidedly unexpected turn. This series places Frodo and Sam’s developing relationship against a colourful and dramatic background where their presence ensures that wrongs are righted and colossal changes are wrought.
